If you’re looking for the best Asian food in Cape Town, especially in the Southern Suburbs, then Linko Restaurant deserves a spot on your list.
Located in Claremont, this popular Asian takeaway spot offers a range of Asian cuisine including sushi, dim sum, fried wontons, and more. It has become a go-to for many locals craving a quick and flavourful Asian food fix, and after trying it ourselves, we can definitely see why. FYI, Linko has multiple branches. At the time of writing this post, there's one in Observatory and CBD too (but those aren't halaal).
What We Loved at the Best Asian Food in Cape Town
Without a doubt, the highlight of our meal was the starter platter.
It includes:
Sushi
Dim sum
Fried wontons
Honestly, if you’re visiting Linko for the first time, this is exactly what we’d recommend ordering.
Their sushi was fresh and flavourful, with a great variety of options to choose from. The dim sum was another standout; perfectly steamed dumplings bursting with flavour in every bite. Saleha especially loved these! And of course, the fried wontons paired with the classic sweet chilli sauce were the perfect crispy addition 🍲
What Could Have Been Better
If we’re being honest, we didn’t loooove the mains as much as we expected. They weren’t bad by any means, but compared to how strong the starters were, the mains just didn’t stand out in the same way.
Value for Money
4/5
For the quality, portion sizes, and pricing, we think Linko offers really good value for money, especially if you stick to their starters and sharing platters.

Things to Know Before You Go
One important thing to note is that Linko Restaurant does not currently have a dine-in space.
So if you’re planning to try them, you’ll need to:
Place an order for collection, or
Order through a delivery app
That said, we still think the food and value make it worth it. At the time of writing this review, the Claremont branch is also the only fully halaal Linko branch, making it a fantastic option if you’re looking for halaal Asian food in Cape Town.
Is Linko Claremont Worth It?
Overall, yes — especially if you’re craving sushi, dim sum, or Asian starters. Our recommendation is to skip expecting too much from the mains and go all in on the appetisers instead. The starter platter alone makes this place worth trying.
