Breakfast and Lunch in Cape Town at Mo’s Diner

Looking for a go-to spot for a casual breakfast or a flavour-packed lunch in Cape Town? Whether you’re on the hunt for the best chicken burger in town or a bagel to start your day off right, Mo’s Diner in Observatory is one of those under-the-radar places that delivers every time.

We’ve visited Mo’s more than once, and every time we leave happy, full, and already planning what we’ll try on our next visit.

What’s on the Menu for your Lunch in Cape Town?

Mo’s Diner is known for its laid-back vibe, generous portions, and a menu that brings together classic favourites with a few flavourful twists.

Some of our top picks are the bagels! The chicken mayo bagel is a go-to staple, simple, fresh, and full of flavour. But if you’re feeling a little adventurous, the Korean Fried Chicken or Chicken Tikka bagels are absolutely packed with taste and come highly recommended. Their burgers also hit the spot. We've tried both the buttermilk chicken burger and the beef burger, and while both were juicy and well-seasoned, Saleha still can’t stop thinking about that buttermilk chicken burger. It’s tender, crispy, and the kind of meal you remember for days. Aliasgher, on the other hand, often goes for the cheeseburger.

The caramel latte was a comforting favourite, and if you’re looking for something more refreshing, their fresh juices are a perfect match for your meal.

We love the reliable flavours that hit the spot every time, and that you can get affordable meals that don’t break the bank. Also, the friendly, welcoming service that keeps the vibe casual and warm is always a pleasure.

Expect to spend around R100–R150 per person (including a drink and tip), which makes this one of the better value-for-money spots in Cape Town, especially if you're craving hearty, feel-good food.
