Breakfast in Cape Town at Knead

Breakfast is our favourite meal, and there’s something extra special about finding a fully halaal spot that gets it right. Not just with flavour, but with vibe too. Knead Café on Dean Street ticked all the boxes, from the food to the friendliness. If you'd like to watch instead of read, click here.

What We Ordered for Breakfast in Cape Town

We went for a breakfast burrito and a croissant with poached eggs (because variety is the spice of life, right?). The croissant was incredibly fresh. Flaky, buttery, and honestly, we’d come back just for that. Next time, we might pair it with some chocolate and call it dessert.

For drinks, we had the rooibos cappuccino which was classic and comforting, the dark chocolate mocha, and the green juice (Saleha went adventurous and this one turned out to be a win)! Super refreshing and highly recommended if you like a little zing in the morning. The owner also surprised us with a fresh muesli cookie. We don’t usually like raisins, but this one still slapped because it was chewy, filling, and full of flavour.

Ambience & Vibes

With warm lighting, earthy wooden finishes, and leafy greens, Knead makes you feel like you're stepping into a little sanctuary. The staff were all friendly and helpful, which really made the experience feel personal. Honestly, it’s the kind of place you want to linger a little longer at. We tried some of their lunch options too (and they were delicious). But we’ll save that for another post. 😜
